Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will be attending the Nordic prime ministers' annual informal summer session scheduled to be held on May 22- 23 in Höga Kusten in Sweden.

The premiers will discuss the development of Nordic cooperation, topical EU matters and international questions, such as the situation in Syria and North Korea, said an official press release.

In their previous meeting, the Nordic prime ministers set the goal of making the Nordic countries the most integrated region in the world. In the Höga Kusten meeting, they will continue to cooperate in areas such as digitalisation by exploring the potential offered by 5G technology.

On the second day of the meeting, the prime ministers will meet the representatives of Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland as well as representatives of the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers.

According to tradition, the spouses of the prime ministers are also invited, so Mrs Minna-Maaria Sipilä will be attending the auxiliary programme for spouses.
