Finland to join Denmark-led Arctic Endurance 26 -exercise framework

The Finnish Defence Forces will participate in the Denmark-led Arctic Endurance 26 -exercise complex in the Arctic region in early autumn, said an official press release on Tuesday.

The exercise will be participated by service personnel from the Navy and from the Utti Jaeger Regiment.

Finland maintains an active posture as a NATO member nation, and takes part in strengthening security in the Arctic region together with its Allies.

Participation in the exercise complex will develop the Finnish Defence Forces’ interoperability, information exchange, and competence in the Arctic operating environment.

The Finnish Navy will assign three personnel onboard vessels of the Royal Danish Navy. The personnel will operate onboard the vessels for the duration of two to three weeks.

Vessels of the Royal Danish Navy participate in the exercise complex Arctic Endurance 26 that extensively covers Denmark-led and its relating exercise activity in Greenland, on Faroe Islands, and in their vicinity in 2026.

The objective of the personnel’s participation is to gather lessons learned on blue-water operating of multi-role naval vessels of the Fregat class.

The lessons learned will be utilised, among other, in the commissioning and induction of the Pohjanmaa class vessel fleet, and in training of personnel.

The Utti Jaeger Regiment will participate in the Arctic Endurance 26 exercise with the objective of developing Arctic interoperability together with Allied troops.

Participation in the exercise will offer the Finnish Defence Forces’ special forces an opportunity to develop their capability to operate in a demanding Arctic environment and to strengthen cooperation with international Allies.
