1 killed in train mishap in Helsinki, motorcyclist killed in Vantaa

One person was killed in a train accident in Helsinki while a motorcyclist was killed in a road mishap in Vantaa on Saturday, police said in separate press releases.

The train accident took place when a train knocked down a man at Pukinmäki station in Helsinki at about noon. He died on the spot.

Police, however, did not divulge details about the accident and the identity of the deceased.

They did not suspect any crime link to the accident at the preliminary stage of the investigation.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find out the reason behind the accident.

Meanwhile, one person was killed in a collision between a private car and a motorcycle on Ring Road III near Tuupakka area in Vantaa on Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. when the private car hit the motorcycle while changing lane.

Driver of the motorcycle died on the spot.

Police did not disclose the identity of the deceased.

Police suspected the driver of the car of aggravated drunk driving, aggravated endangerment of traffic safety, and aggravated manslaughter.
