Man killed in train mishap in Kaarina

A man was killed in a train accident in Kaarina, a municipality in Southwest region of the country on Tuesday afternoon, police said in a press release.

The accident took place at about 2:00 p.m. when a train knocked down the man at Piikkiö area. He died on the spot.

Responding to an alarm, police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Police did not disclose details about the accident and the identity of the deceased.

They, however, did not suspect any crime link to the death.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find out the reason behind the accident.
