3 killed in separate violence in Pieksämäki, Karijoki, Somero, 7 held

Three people were killed in separate incidents violence in Pieksämäki, Karijoki and Somero areas in the country on Thursday, police said.

A man was stabbed to death in Pieksämäki, a municipality under South Savo region in the evening.

The incident took place at about 6:00 p.m. when a miscreant attacked him with a sharp knife during a clash between two groups at Kuopiontie area in the city.

The victim sustained severe wounds and succumbed to his injuries immediately after the attack.

Responding to an alarm, police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and recovered the body but the people involved in the clash left the scene.

Police also conducted extensive search at the locality and arrested four people in connection with the incident.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the victim and the suspects.

They are investigating into the incident as suspected murder to find out the reason behind the death.

Meanwhile, another man was killed when a woman allegedly attacked him with sharp weapon inside a private house in Karijoki, a municipality under South Ostrobothnia region early Thursday night.

The murder took place at about 3:00 a.m.

Police and rescue service people rushed to the house and found the man in a critical condition, who later scummed to his injuries on the spot despite emergency treatment.

Police arrested the woman as suspect of the murder from the house.

Police did not disclose details about the incident and the identities of the deceased and the suspect and the relation between them but said that they are not local residents.

They placed the suspect before the South Ostrobothnia District Court on Thursday seeking remand into the custody and the court granted the remand.

Another man was killed in a private residence in Somero, a municipality in Southwest Finland on Thursday morning.

The murder took place at about 6:00 a.m. in the house at Turuntie area.

Police said that they found a man with mark of blood at his body walking at the Somero city centre area and arrested him.

Based on the statement of the 65 years old man police raided a house and found the body of a 40-year-old man.

Police also arrested a man of 30 years old, a suspected resident of the house.

Police, however, did not disclose any information about the murder and the identities of the victim and the suspects at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
