The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs is preparing a repatriation flight for Finnish citizens and permanent residents, who are currently in the United Arab Emirates and need assistance in leaving the region.

The repatriation charter flight will be operated from Muscat, Oman to Helsinki this weekend, said the Ministry in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

Finnish citizens and permanent residents, who wish to return may purchase a seat on the self‑financed repatriation flight.

A preliminary survey has been sent to those who have submitted a travel notification in the United Arab Emirates.

The estimated price of the flight is approximately EUR 2,300 per passenger. The cost is significantly influenced by increased insurance prices, said the ministry, adding that additional expenses may also arise for travel required to reach Oman.

Further information on purchasing tickets and on transfers to Muscat Airport will be communicated later through the Ministry’s channels, as well as directly to those who have submitted a travel notification for the United Arab Emirates.

Travellers in the region are advised to submit a travel notification and to file a new notification or update an existing one if their return date changes.

The Ministry has deployed a consular mission to the Persian Gulf region to support the counselling and assistance of Finnish nationals on the ground, initially in the United Arab Emirates.
