Finland partly suspends processing of Iranians´ asylum applications

Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) has partially suspended the processing of asylum applications from Iranian citizens, said Migri in a press release on Thursday.

The authority took the decision as it needs updated information about Iran following the changed situation in the country due to demonstrations and violence during the recent period.

Migri said that suspension of handling asylum applications is a standard practice across the European Union, if there are significant and sudden changes security situation of any country.

Migri is presently processing about 100 asylum applications of Iranian nationals.
