Road mishaps kill 16 in Finland in October

A total of 16 persons were killed and 253 others injured in 222 road accidents in Finland in October, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of fatalities was four higher and the number of persons injured 42 lower than in October 2024.
Out of the deceased, eight travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by motorcycle.
Four pedestrians, one cyclist on a traditional bicycle and one road user were also killed.
Among those who died, 12 were men and four women.
A total of 158 persons were killed and 2,546 others injured in 2,127 road traffic accidents in Finland from January to October in 2025.
The number of deaths was 20 higher and the number of persons injured 256 lower than in the corresponding period of 2024.
