Birth rate remains lower than death in Finland

The number of births was 8,679 lower than that of deaths in Finland during the January-August period, according to Statistics Finland.
There were 30,479 births and 39,158 deaths in the country in the first eight months of this year.
Finland's population, however, increased by 14,354 persons in Janbuary-August period.
The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad. The number of immigrants was 23,003 higher than that of emigrants.
Country's population was 5,650,325 at the end of August 2025.
