2 burnt to death in Heinola house fire

Two residents were burnt to death in a fire at a house in Heinola, a municipality under Päijät-Häme region early Saturday night, police said in a press release.

The fire broke out in the detached house and engulfed it at Holmankatu area immediately.

There were two residents-one man and one woman- in the house at that time and both of them were burnt to death.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service personnel and police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the house.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased.

The origin of the fire could not be known.

Police did not suspect any crime link to the incident.

Rescue service people and police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
