Finland holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2025, said the Ministry of Education and Culture in a press release on Friday.
In the branch government of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Presidency programme highlights cultural cooperation between the Nordic countries as well as cultural diversity, inclusiveness and equality.
In terms of education and research cooperation, the emphasis is on raising the level of education and competence as well as on multidisciplinary research and decision-making that draw on research-based knowledge.
Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz is responsible for matters related to Nordic cooperation.
"This year, together with Åland, we will promote common issues, such as sustainability, security and crisis resilience in society. We will be paying particular attention to children and young people. These are the issues that the Nordic countries need to focus on now and in the years to come," said Adlercreutz.
The Nordic Council of Ministers is the official body for intergovernmental cooperation in the Nordic region.
