Man killed in road mishap in Kauhajoki, 1 burnt to death in Imatra

A man was killed in a road accident at Kauhajoki, a municipality in South Ostrobothnia region on Monday morning, police said in a press release.
The accident took place at about 11:50 am when a lumber carrying lorry collided with a private car at an intersection at the area.
Driver of the car was killed on the spot in the accident.
Police and rescue department people rushed to the spot and recovered the body from there.
Police said that the deceased was a man but did not disclose his detail identity.
The accident disrupted vehicular movement on the road for few hours.
Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it.
Meanwhile, one person was burnt to death in a fire, which broke out at a detached house at Kaivotie in Imatra, a municipality in South Karelia region in early Monday morning, police said in another press release.
The fire broke out at about 5:30 pm and engulfed the house immediately.
Rescue service personnel rushed to the spot responding to an alarm and recovered the body of the deceased from there.
Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the victim and the origin of the fire.
They are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
