President postpones Tampere visit due to flue

President Sauli Niinistö postponed his visit to Tampere scheduled for Saturday as he has been infected with flu, said the President Office in a press release on Friday.
The visit will take place later on a separately announced date.
Earlier this week, the President Office announced his visit to Tampere where the President was scheduled to meet with representatives of the City of Tampere and the Pirkanmaa region in Tampere City Hall to discuss topical issues in the region.
He was also scheduled to visit the new Tammela stadium and participate in a public skating event organised by the city in Sorsapuisto Park.
The skating event is a continuation to the national exercise challenge President Niinistö launched in August 2023, in which Tampere has also taken part.
