Ministers of Kokoomus, Perussuomalaiset, KD announced

The conservative Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP), radical rightist Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) and SuomenKristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats of Finland-CD) announced the names of their ministers in the cabinet of the upcoming four-party alliance government.

The party council and the parliamentary group of Kokoomus, the largest component of the alliance on Sunday decided that party chairperson Petteri Orpo will be the Prime Minister while Elina Valtonen will take over as the Foreign Minister, Kai Mykkänen, Climate and Environment Minister, Sanni Grahn-Laasonen, Social Security Minister, Antti Häkkänen, Defence Minister and Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, Local Government and Regional Affairs Minister.

Arto Satonen and Matias Marttinen will share the responsibility of the Ministry of Employment while Sari Multala and Mari-Leena Talvitie will share the ministry of Culture and Science by turns one after another.

Radical rightist Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party), the second component of the alliance on Sunday also announced the names of its ministers where party Chairperson Riikka Purra will take over as Finance Minister.

Mari Rantanen has been chosen as Interior Minister, Leena Meri, Justice Minister, Kaisa Juuso, Social Affairs and Health Minister, Lulu Ranne, Transport and Communications Minister and Ville Tavio, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Minister.

Vilhelm Junnila and Sakari Puisto will share the responsibility of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

SuomenKristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats of Finland-CD) leader Sari Essayah will be Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.

Another component of the four-party alliance Suomenruotsalainenkansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland-RKP), however, did not announced the names of its ministers. The party

The party will get Minister of Education, the Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering and the Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Activity (for 2 years).

The RKP is expected to announce the name of ministers on Monday.

According to the share in the government, Kokoomus will get eight ministers including the Prime Minister, the Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) will get seven ministers, Suomenruotsalainenkansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland-RKP) will get two permanent and one temporary ministers and the SuomenKristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats of Finland-CD) will get one permanent and one temporary ministers.
