40% cast votes in advance in parliamentary polls

A total of 17,09119 voters cast votes in the parliamentary elections during the advance ballot ended on Tuesday, according to the information provided by the Ministry of Justice.
The advance voting in the polls started on March 22.
The number of advance votes is 40% of the total voters eligible for the parliamentary elections this year.
Out of the voters, who cast votes in advance, 789321 were men and 919798 were women.
The ratio of voter turnout in advance voting was highest in Lapland constituency with casting of 45.3% of total votes followed by Pirkanmaa 44.3% and Satakunta 43.2%.
The lowest turnout was in autonomous Åland where only 19.3% voters cast vote in advance followed by Uusimaa 37%, Häme and Vaasa 38.7% each and Oulu 38.9%.
A total 4277486 people including 2082297 men and 2195189 women are eligible to cast votes in the parliamentary elections this year to elect 200 members of the parliament out of 2424 candidates for the next four years.
The parliamentary elections will be held across the country on April 2.
