1 perish in Lieto car accident

One person was killed along Hämeentie highway in Lieto near Vierunpuisto, said a police bulletin.

The accident took place shortly after midnight Saturday.

Three others were transfered to a hospital for examination.

Preliminary investigations revealed that two cars were heading towards Lieto when one of the vehicles overtook the other in the process losing control and overturning into a ditch.

None of those riding in the overtaken vehicle was injured.

The road at the scene of accident was closed for about two hours.

The matter is being initialy investigated as drunken driving, endangering traffic safety and causing death.
