Man killed at pedestrian crossing in Kotka

A pedestrian was on Friday killed while crossing the road in Kotka, said a police bulletin.

The police were alerted to the scene at around noon on Saturday where it was reported that a car had rammed over a man crossing the road.

The accident took place at a pedestrian crossing at the Kotkantie- Lainekatu intersection.

The incident is being investigated as aggravated traffic endangerment and manslaughter.

The police did not comment further as the matter is still under investigation.
