Fake threat alarm halts train in Oulu, 1 held

Police on Sunday stopped a Helsinki bound passenger train coming from Rovaniemi at Oulu railway station for about one hour following a fake alarm of threat, police said in a press release.

Police received the alarm at about 8:00 in the morning and immediately stopped the train at Oulu station.

Members of the law enforcing agency conducted extensive search in the train for about one hour and found the threat baseless.

Police, however, did not mention about what kind of threat was made.

Later, police arrested one person from Kemi on charge of making the false alarm of threat.

They are also investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind making the false threat alarm.
