144 killed in road mishaps in 9 months

At least 15 persons were killed and 343 others injured in 304 road accidents in the country in September, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was the same and that of persons injured 50 lower than in September 2021.
Out of the deceased, eight travelled by passenger car, one killed by moped, motorcycle and by lorry each.
Killed pedestrians numbered two, cyclists one and other road users one.
Among those who died, 12 were men and three were women.
A total of 144 persons were killed and 2,918 others injured in 2,362 road traffic accidents in Finland in January to September period.
The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 38 higher than in the corresponding period of 2021.
Of the persons who were killed, 87 travelled by passenger car, one by moped, 20 by motorcycle and two by lorry.
Pedestrians killed numbered 16 and cyclists 15. In addition, three other road users were killed.
