Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) lawmaker Krista Kiuru on Friday returned to the cabinet of the five-party alliance after maternity leave and resumed duty as the Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services.

The President reappointed Kiuru to serve as the minister, said a government press release.

On the same occasion, the President released Aki Lindén from his duties as Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services and as a member of the government.

SDP lawmaker Aki Lindén replaced Kiuru on February 4 as Kiuru decided to go for maternity leave.

Kiuru gave birth to her first child, a daughter in March this year.
