Niinistö, Steinmeier discuss Ukraine war, NATO over phone

President Sauli Niinistö on Thursday held a telephone conversation with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and discussed various issues including Russia´s attack on Ukraine, said the President Office in a release.

The Presidents also discussed Finland´s NATO accession process and Energy issues.

“Once again, a good conversation with Federal President Steinmeier. We discussed Ukraine's fight against the Russian invasion, the need for European resilience and the state of Finland's NATO process. Energy issues were also on the agenda,” Niinistö wrote in his twitter post after the conversation.
