Man held in Turku for threatening people with knife

Police arrested one person on charge of threatening a group of people in a burger shop in Turku city centre late Saturday night, said police in a press release on Monday.

The incident took place at about 9:30 pm at Aurakatu area as a sequel to an altercation between the 24-year-old suspect and a group of youth.

At certain stage the suspect entered into the burger shop and threatened the customers with knife.

Responding to an alarm, a squad of patrol police rushed to the spot and detained the suspect from outside of the shop.

None was, however, injured in the incident.

Police are investigating into the case as suspected attempted murder and illegal threatening.
