Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen will travel to Berlin on Thursday, said a government press release on Wednesday.
During her visit, Tuppurainen will meet with German Minister for Special Affairs and Head of the Chancellery Wolfgang Schmidt, State Secretary for Financial Market Policy and European Policy Jörg Kukies, and other representatives of the German Government.
Meanwhile, national broadcaster Yle on Tuesday reported that Tuppurainen will visit Berlin on Thursday over Uniper's financial difficulties.
Tuppurainen is set to meet with German government officials and executives of Fortum and Uniper, said the Yle report.
Earlier on July 8, Fortum's subsidiary Uniper sought German government support.
A spokesperson for German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Monday that a solution was being sought, although she did not comment on the possible headwinds from Finland, reported German news agency dpa.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Habeck had promised support to the company.
Habeck said on the weekend that he wanted to hold Uniper's owners to account, telling German radio: "After all, it belongs to someone who is solvent and who can provide support," the dpa report added.
