The Parliament on Monday imposed ban on a top-ranking leader of the Power Belongs to the People Party (VKK) for taking a photo of a female lawmaker and publishing it in social media, parliament sources said.

Speaker Matti Vanhanen imposed the ban on VKK second Voce- President Jarno Vähäkainu as he took a photograph of Vihreä liitto (Finnish Green League) lawmaker Iiris Suomela last week and published it on his twitter.

Vähäkainu in his post wrote that he experienced sexual abuse when he visited Parliament's cafeteria last time and included the photo showing Suomela sitting in Parliament's cafeteria wearing a short dress.

The ban will be effective during the whole remaining term of the present parliament, but the ban will not be applicable in the public gallery during plenary session, said the parliament in a press release.
