President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Saturday strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack outside a popular LGBTQ nightclub in Oslo.

They also expressed profound shock at the killings of two people and paid empathy to the family members of the victims.

“Deeply shocked and saddened over the terrorist act in Oslo last night. Finland condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the President wrote in a twitter post after the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the families and close ones of the victims. There is no place for terrorism and we condemn these acts in the strongest way,” the Premier wrote in her twitter.

A man killed two people outside a popular LGBTQ nightclub in Oslo early Saturday night.

Police said that the alleged shooter was known to the police since 2015 as a suspected radical Islamist. The authorities are treating the incident as an "act of Islamist terrorism," the officials said.
