President, US senators discuss Finland´s NATO bid, Turkey

President Sauli Niinistö on Friday held a meeting with members of the U. S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence at his Kultaranta summer residence in Naantali and discussed various issues including Finland´s NATO membership application and the stand of Turkey.
“An excellent discussion on topics from NATO and Turkey to technology and trade with members of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence”, the President wrote in a twitter post after the meeting.
The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Senators Mark Warner, Richard Burr, Angus King and Roy Blunt and US Ambassador to Helsinki Douglas Thomas Hickey took part in the meeting with the President.
Meanwhile, the visiting Chair of the Military Committee of NATO, Admiral Rob Bauer also met with the President at Kultaranta on Friday and discussed the Finland´s NATO membership application.
“Admiral Rob Bauer paid a visit to Kultaranta. We had an important conversation on the future role of Finland in NATO, and the growing significance of technology,” Niinistö wrote in another twitter post after the meeting.
