Marin, Pelosi discuss Finland´s NATO membership bid

Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Friday met with Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi during her visit to Washington, DC, according to government sources.

The topics of their meeting included Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Finland’s application for NATO membership, the fight against climate change, equality issues and opportunities to strengthen cooperation on the development of new technologies.

“As Speaker of the House, it was an honor to welcome Her Excellency Sanna Marin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland, to the United States Capitol for a bilateral meeting on Finland’s efforts to join NATO, European security, energy security & the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Pelosi wrote in a twitter post after the meeting with the Prime Minister.
