PM leaves for USA to join Bilderberg Group meeting

Prime Minister Sanna Marin will travel to Washington, DC, from Thursday to Saturday to attend a meeting of the Bilderberg Group, said a government press release on Wednesday.
The annual Bilderberg Meeting held first time in 1954 and no meeting was held in the last two years against the backdrop of the coronavirus outbreak across the globe.
Its purpose is to foster an informal and confidential exchange of views between leading European and North American politicians, journalists, researchers, experts and business representatives.
The government press release, however, did not say whether the Premier would have any meeting with US authority on the Finland´s NATO membership application.
Local newspapers reported that there is no scheduled meeting between the Prime Minister and US President Joe Biden during this trip.
The Prime Minister participated in the European Council meeting in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday.
