12 killed in road mishaps in April

A total of 12 persons were killed and 240 others injured in 183 road accidents in April, according Statistics Finland.

The number of deceased was four lower and that of persons injured 15 higher than in April 2021.

Of the persons who were killed, eight travelled by passenger car and one by bicycle.

Three pedestrians were also killed.

Among those who died, nine were men and three were women.

Meanwhile, a total of 45 persons were killed and 921 others injured in 718 road traffic accidents in January to April period.

The number of deceased was five lower and the number of injured persons was 96 higher than in the corresponding period of 2021.

Of the persons who were killed, 36 travelled by passenger car and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered seven and cyclists one.
