450 from 15 Orgs to join rescue exercise at Helsinki Airport

An emergency exercise will be held at Helsinki Airport and its adjoining area on Wednesday where 450 people from 15 organizations will participate, said country´s airports operator Finavia in a press release.

​During the exercise, emergency vehicle traffic will be lively on the roads to the airport and smoke will be visible at the airport.

The exercise, however, will not affect air traffic.

The purpose of the exercise is to develop cooperation between the authorities and other operators.

Rescue Services of Central Uusimaa, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, Eastern Uusimaa Police Department, National Bureau of Investigation, Border Guard, Safety Investigation Authority, Emergency Response Centre Agency, city of Vantaa, Finavia, Finnair, Nordic Regional Airlines, Fintraffic, Aviator, Swissport, Customs and the Red Cross will participate in the exercise .
