10 killed in road mishaps in Jan

A total of 10 people were killed and 245 other injured in 200 road accidents in Finland in January, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of persons killed was four lower and that of persons injured 11 lower than in January 2021.

Of the persons who were killed, eight travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered two.

Among those who died, eight were men and two were women.

In 2021, a total of 219 people were killed and 3,839 other injured in 3,202 road accidents in the country.
