1 killed in Nakkila, suspect held

One person was allegedly killed by a man at Nakkila, a municipality in Western Finland under Satakunta region on Tuesday, police said in a press release on Friday.

Police arrested the suspect of the murder from Kokemäki area on Tuesday night and placed him before the Satakunta District Court seeking remand for further interrogation.

The court granted the appeal for remand of the man of 30s on Friday.

Police said that the murder took place on 1 February and responding to a call police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased from near the Highway 2, adjacent to the Nakkila centre.

Police, however, did not disclose detail about the incident.

Police also did not divulge the identities of the victim or the suspect at the initial stage of the investigation.

The police will continue the investigation into the incident to find out more information and the motive of the alleged murder.
