Foreigner killed in Rovaniemi husky sled mishap

A foreign national was killed in an accident at a husky safari in Rovaniemi, Lapland on Wednesday, police said in a press release.

Lapland Police said that the accident took place in the morning when the dog sled collided with a tree at the husky safari.

A foreign national, who was onboard the sled, killed in the accident.

Responding to a call police and rescue department people rushed to the spot and take necessary actions following the accident.

Police, however, did not divulge the name of the safari and the detail identity of the deceased.

It could not be known whether the victim was a tourist.

There are several husky safaris in Rovaniemi.

Police are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it.
