House fire kills 1 in Kiuruvesi

One person was killed in a fire at a joint house at Rinnekatu area in Kiuruvesi, a municipality located in Northern Savonia region on Tuesday.

Police said that the fire broke out in the morning at about 5:00 o’clock and engulfed the house immediately.

Police and several units of rescue service rushed to the spot responding to a call and recovered the body of the deceased.

Firefighters, however, extinguished the fire immediately as a result the fire could not spread to the other houses.

The police are investigating into the incident and trying to find out the reason behind the origin of the fire.

The police, however, did not divulge any more details in this regard.
