1 killed in Kotka violence, road mishap kills 1 in Jyväskylä

One person was killed in a violence took place in Kotka late Friday night.

Police said that the incident took place at about 6:30 pm but did not divulge anything more about the incident and the victim.

Member of the law enforcing agency, however, arrested one person in connection with the murder but did not disclose the identity of the suspect.

Police are investigating into the case as a murder.

Meanwhile, one person was killed and seven other were injured in a road accident at Korpilahti in Jyväskylä late Friday night.

Police said that the accident took place at about 8:30 am when a private car skidded off the road while trying to overtake other vehicles and collided with two other private cars coming from opposite direction.

Driver of the car, which was trying to overtake died on the spot while another person onboard was injured. The deceased was 30 years old.

There were six people in the two other cars- four in one and two in another- that were coming from opposite direction were also injured in the accident.

The injured people were taken to hospital.

The police did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the injured persons.

The police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the case.
