Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Tuesday started to work remotely from her official residence in Kesäranta as a precautionary measure following mild flu symptoms, said a government press release in the afternoon.

She also participated remotely in the government meeting held on Tuesday to discuss strategies against the backdrop of the worsening coronavirus situation in the country.

The Premier will also get tested for COVID-19.

This is for the seventh time that Marin is going to test coronavirus as a precautionary measure.

Earlier, in October 2020 Marin was tested for coronavirus twice and the results of the first test were negative.

On 10 September, 2020 Marin went for remote working and tested for COVID 19 following a possible coronavirus exposure.

On 18 August, 2020 the prime minister got tested for COVID-19 following some respiratory symptoms.

On 23 April, 2020 Marin went to self-quarantine after a worker of her official residence Kesäranta had become infected with coronavirus. She worked remotely from the Kesäranta as a precautionary measure.

On 25 May, 2020 the prime minister took a weeklong sick leave and got tested for COVID-19 after she had developed flu-like symptoms.

On 7 May, 2020 all the ministers including the PM started to work remotely, when Social Affairs and Health Minister Aino-Kaisa Pekonen and Employment Minister Tuula Haatainen went into self-quarantine after their suspected exposure to coronavirus during government negotiations.

But the tests results were negative.
