Man gunned down in Nivala, suspect held

One person was killed when a miscreant attacked him with firearm at Nivala in Northern Ostrobothnia region on Sunday morning, police said.

The incident took place outside of a private apartment when a local 25-year-old man fired several rounds of gunshots and wounded a 29-year-old man hailed from Kalajoki.

The victim succumbed to his wounds on the spot immediately, police said.

Responding to a call, the law-enforcers rushed to the spot and found the body of the deceased and arrested the suspect.

Police said that the suspect was under influence of alcohol at the time of the murder and the suspect and the victim were known to each other.

The Oulu Police are investigating into the case a murder and after the preliminary investigation police found the motive of the incident.

The suspect was sent to the custody and will be appeared before the court.

The police did not divulge anything more at this stage of the investigation.
