Niinistö suffers from flu, postpones Lithuania visit

The Lithuania visit of President Sauli Niinistö, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to illnessof the president, said the President Office on Monday.
Niinistö's working visit to Lithuania and his meeting with Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nausėda has been postponed due to Niinistö's flu, said an official press release.
The President has undergone a coronavirus test, the result of the test, however, was negative.
The visit will take place later on an appropriate date, the press release added.
Earlier on 4 November, the President Office announced that Niinistö will pay a working visit to Lithuania on 9 November.
Niinistö was also scheduled to meet Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen and lay a wreath at the monument for those who gave their lives in the struggle for Lithuanian independence.
Niinistö made his previous visit to Lithuania in 2018, attending the 100th Anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuania's Independence.
