Military grenade launcher found in Raisio

Police recovered a military grenade launcher from a warehouse in Raisio, a town in the south-western Finland, said the National Police Board in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.

Responding to a call regarding the suspected military explosive, the police rushed to the spot and isolated the warehouse area at Ratakatu in the town.

Personnel from the TEPO ( special unit of the police trained up on explosive and bomb) unit of police examined the explosive and identified it as a grenade launcher.

The police later moved the grenade launcher to a safe place and handed it over to the Defence Forces.

The Defence Forces will take the further measure for its destruction.
