Man held for attempted robbery in Mikkeli

Police on Saturday arrested one alleged bandit on charge of attempted robbery at a sale store at Laajalampi in Mikkeli.

Police said that the person entered into the shop at about 8:00 in the morning and tried to snatch money from the cashbox of the store at knife point.

The suspect, however, failed to take money and left the spot by his bike sensing police arrival.

Responding to a call, police conducted extensive search at the locality and arrested the 30 years old person within 15 minutes of the robbery attempt from Mikkeli city centre based on the information from a security guard.
