Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will visit Helsinki on Friday at the invitation of Prime Minister Sanna Marin, said a government press release on Tuesday.

This is the first visit to Finland by the newly elected Estonian prime minister, who took office in January.

The prime ministers will discuss bilateral relations between the neighbouring countries, the management of COVID-19 pandemic, international affairs, and topical EU issues.

Topics on the agenda will include next week’s extraordinary videoconference of the European Council concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and security and defence cooperation.

The visiting prime minister will also meet President Sauli Niinistö, added the press release.
