One person was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of teenage boys in Vallila area of Helsinki early Saturday morning, the police said in a statement on Sunday. The victim was about 20 years old.

The police suspect involvement of three teenage boys in the killing and arrested one of them.

The incident is told to have been taken place at about 1:00 AM when the teenage boys between 14 and 16 years stabbed the person in front of Alepa store at the intersection of Mäkelänkatu and Päijänteentie.

Responding to an emergency call police rushed to the spot and took the critically injured person to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds, said the police.

The attackers, however, fled the scene.

The law enforcers are investigating the incident as murder. The police already found the traces of two attackers and arrested one of them.

The police said the suspects were part of a group of about five people, including two girls, before the attack.

The police conducted technical and tactical investigations and reviewed surveillance camera footage of the area on Sunday,” said Helsinki Police Detective Chief Inspector Jukka Larkio, the lead investigator.
