1 killed, 1 hurt in Kurikka motocross mishap

A teenage motorcyclist was killed and another injured critically during a motocross motorcycle practice in Kurikka area of south Ostrobothnia on Friday evening.
The accident took place when the two motorcycles laden with two teenage riders collided head on at a curve of a forest road at Lohiluoma in Kurikka, a small municipality near Seinäjoki, the local media reported quoting the police.
One of the motorcyclists died on the spot while the other was injured critically.
The injured motorcyclist was taken to hospital.
The police are investigating the incident as an accident and unintentional murder.
A Finnish language evening tabloid, Iltalehti, on Saturday, quoted the police as saying that the victims are 16 to 18 years old and the speed of their motorcycles was moderately high.
