25 killed in road mishaps in July

A total of 25 people were killed and 390 other injured in 315 road accidents in the country in July, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of deaths was four higher and the number of injured was 123 lower than in July 2019.

Of the persons who were killed, 16 travelled by private car and five by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed in road accidents numbered two and cyclists two.

Among the deceased 21 were men and four were women.

A total of 127 persons were killed and 2,360 other injured in 1,918 road accidents in January to July period.

The number of deaths was five higher and the number of injured was 415 lower than in the corresponding period of 2019.

Out of the deceased, 77 travelled by private car, six by van, 11 by motorcycle and two by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered 13 and cyclists 13. In addition, five other road users were killed.
