Niinistö, Putin exchange New Year´s greetings

President Sauli Niinistö on Monday held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and exchanged the traditional New Year’s greetings, according to a press release issued by the President’s Office.

The presidents of the next-door neighbours also discussed various bilateral issues during the conversation.

They also addressed international issues, particularly the current situation in Syria, Libya, and Ukraine, the press release added.
