The two suspects, who were arrested from Tampere late Sunday night in connection with the incident of shooting two police officers in Porvoo late Saturday night are Swedish citizens, said the police.
The police said the suspects are 30 years and 25 years old.
Earlier, the police on Monday arrested two people as suspects of opening gun fire at police in Porvoo.
Two police officers were injured, one seriously, in the gun fire at an industrial area in Porvoo.
News agency Xinhua adds: The two men were detained after a high speed chase near the town of Tampere late Sunday.
Dr. Henri Rikander, who has carried out research at the University of Eastern Finland, told the Finnish language newspaper Helsingin Sanomat that there have been tens of serious cases each year.
He said while the ordinary “street violence” has declined in Finland, aggression against “people on duty” has increased.
The description “people on duty” includes, besides the police, also fire and rescue service employees and teachers.
