11 new deaths, 2767 coronavirus infections diagnosed in 1 week

The coronavirus death toll in the country increased to 1062 as 11 new deaths were reported in the country in the last one week since Thursday, 16 September, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 1,37, 594 as 2767 new cases were diagnosed in the last seven days.

Out of the new cases, 487 infections were diagnosed on Thursday, 501 on Friday, 391 on Saturday, 51 on Sunday, none on Monday, 860 on Tuesday and 477 on Wednesday.

The THL, however, did not give any statistics about the number of coronavirus variants such as Alfa, Beta, Gamma and Delta in the last week.

A total of 108 coronavirus patients, including 20 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 2485 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
