Eleven people were arrested as multiple pro-Palestinian demonstrations were held in London on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police was quoted by the BBC on Wednesday as saying, reported Xinhua.
Five of them were arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred at a protest in north London, and the other arrests were made at student-led pro-Palestinian protests and a counter-protest, according to the report.
Pro-Palestinian protesters chanted "free Palestine from the river to the sea" during their march from Lincoln's Inn Fields to Russell Square on Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday marked three years since the Gaza conflict erupted on Oct. 7, 2023. The coastal enclave has been left in ruins, with tens of thousands of people killed. While a ceasefire has been reached, the underlying issues at the heart of the conflict remain unresolved.
