12 killed in Ukrainian drone attack in Russia, fighter jet crashes in Ukraine

Twelve people were killed and 39 others injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, local authorities announced Monday, reported Xinhua.
Both industrial and civilian facilities were targeted when Nizhnekamsk came under a massive drone attack Monday morning, according to Tatarstan head Rustam Minnikhanov's press service.
Meanwhile, a MiG-29 fighter jet of Ukraine's air force crashed on Monday evening in the country's southern Odesa region while on a combat mission, the air force said in a statement.
The pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and was taken to a medical facility.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred as the pilot was carrying out a task of destroying enemy air targets.
The aircraft caught fire, causing the pilot to lose control despite attempts to save the jet.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
