A total of 17 people, including two children, were injured in the massive drone assault on the Moscow region, reported Xinhua.

The large-scale attack hit five districts, namely Ramenskoye, Solnechnogorsk, Lyubertsy, Dzerzhinsky and Kotelniki, said Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, adding that all the injured are receiving medical treatment.

Debris from a drone fell on a shopping complex in the Kapotnya region in Moscow, causing minor damage, while a drone strike led to a fire at the Moscow refinery, which had been largely contained by Thursday with no reported casualties, said Sergei Sobyanin, mayor of Moscow.

Air traffic in the Russian capital was severely disrupted. Around 120 flights were cancelled and more than 160 delayed, while Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports were closed for four to six hours overnight and in the early morning, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia said.

The attack on Moscow came a day after a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a bus carrying Belarusian children in Russia's Bryansk region, killing a woman and injuring seven people, including five children.

Russia's Defense Ministry announced that the Russian forces have responded by carrying out a strike combining high-precision ground- and air-launched weapons and long-range attack drones on fuel and energy facilities supporting the Ukrainian military.

The strike hit a fuel and lubricants storage facility near Boryspil-2 in the Kiev region and the Zaturyno oil refinery in the Poltava region, said the ministry.
